A woman died after a car struck her while she was biking in Olney on Thursday morning.
Montgomery County police said the crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. near Olney Laytonsville Road and Zion Road.
Police said 48-year-old Diane M. Whitman, of Montgomery Village, was biking east on Olney Laytonsville Road when she was hit by a 2011 Toyota Camry, also traveling east, driven by 30-year-old Heather Simmons.
Whitman was pronounced dead at the scene. Simmons was taken to a hospital with injuries authorities said weren’t life-threatening.
