Montgomery County police arrested one person in connection with a brawl between dozens of teenagers earlier this afternoon.
The fight began at about 1:20 today on the 900 block of Gabel Street in Silver Spring. Police said they had no idea how the fight started but estimated that about 50 teens had been involved. Most scattered when police arrived, though, said police spokeswoman Officer Janelle Smith.
One participant was arrested for possession of a handgun that police found nearby, Smith said. She couldn’t provide any additional details on the arrestee’s name, age, or gender.
The location of the brawl is two blocks from Northwood High School.
