The mother of Baltimore Orioles legend Cal Ripken Jr. was abducted from her house early Tuesday morning but was found unharmed Wednesday morning, police in Aberdeen, Md., said.
Vi Ripken was forced from her house at gunpoint between 7 and 8 a.m. Tuesday, police said in a statement. A man carrying a handgun forced her into her car and left the area, police said.
On Tuesday night, Baltimore County police received a call about a suspicious vehicle, police said, and used information from that tipster in the search for Ripken.
At 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Ripken was found restrained, but uninjured, in her car near her house, police said. Later in the day, she was “resting with family members,” police said.
Police are searching for a white man in his late 30s to early 40s. He was wearing a light-colored shirt, camouflage pants and glasses and was armed with a handgun, police said.
