Prince William man shot, stabbed during robbery

A 47-year-old Prince William man was shot and stabbed while walking with two other men near a Woodbridge apartment complex, police said. The man is in stable condition, and the other men, ages 29 and 26, were unharmed. The three were walking between Marumsco Plaza and the Bayview Apartments late Sunday night when they were approached by three men who robbed them. The robbers opened fire before fleeing. The robbers are described as black men in their 20s. Anyone with information should call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

Cigarette trafficker pleads guilty

Bing Feng Mai pleaded guilty to buying more than $2 million in contraband cigarettes. Mai was arrested July 2 after several meetings with undercover law enforcement officers in Northern Virginia during which he bought 20 million untaxed cigarettes. Authorities seized 12 million Chinese-made counterfeit cigarettes he kept in a storage facility.



Homeland Security employee pleads guilty to $3,000 theft

A 46-year-old Homeland Security guard pleaded guilty to stealing $3,000 in gift cards from a D.C. facility, prosecutors said. Kirk Washington, of Temple Hills, admitted to stealing the cards from a government building under his jurisdiction as chief of building services at six Customer and Border protection officers in the District. In December, he stole a key from a supervisor’s desk, unlocked a safe and grabbed the gift cards inside.

Springfield man, 49, robbed in Woodbridge

A man was walking on the 1300 block of Horner Road early Wednesday when he was approached by a gun-wielding man. The culprit, described as black, in his early 20s and with a thin build, took the victim’s cash and ran off. He was wearing a black shirt and bluejeans.
