Driver arrested after hitting cyclist on W&OD trail

A 28-year-old McLean woman has been charged with drunk driving and felony hit and run after police said she ran over a bicyclist on a bike trail with her car.

A 65-year-old biker was left with serious injuries after he was hit on the W&OD Trail around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Fairfax County police. A 2005 Toyota was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit him, without slowing, from behind on the trail, police said.
