District police seek help in solving homocide

D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department has released a new video of suspects in a homocide that took place last winter in Northeast. They are seeking the public’s help to solve the crime.

The victim, Rajeshkumar Patel, the shop owner of Newton Foodmart. Patel was shot in front of his wife on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010. Two male suspects are depicted in the video, which shows them walking around the convenience store. Click here to see the video. 

Police and medical units responded to the incident around 6:40 p.m. that night. Patel was transported to a local area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

MPD offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of someone wanted for a homicide committed in the District.
