Police looking for Laurel sisters who ran away last month

Police are still looking for two teenage sisters from Laurel who are believed to have run away after telling family members they were going to the library in October.

Anne Arundel County police said family members reported on Oct. 21 that 17-year-old Quwaylnn Unique Green and 15-year-old Rashada Lane Smith had gone missing.

Earlier that day, the two girls had told their relatives that they were going to the Maryland City Library in Laurel, police said. But the pair never came home, and police and their family have been looking for them since then.

Police said people have had contact with the teenagers since they went missing, but the girls will not disclose to them where they are staying.

Family members believe the girls may have gone to Pittsburgh to see other relatives.

Police are continuing to work with the family to find the teens, Anne Arundel County police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said Tuesday.

Quwaylnn is described as a black girl who is about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. Smith is described as a black girl who is about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

Police ask that anyone who has information about the case is asked to call Detective Jay Schline of the Anne Arundel County police missing-persons unit at 410-222-3588 or 410-222-8610.
