Couple admits to harboring domestic servant An Upper Marlboro couple has pleaded guilty to harboring a Filipina woman they brought to the United States under false pretenses to work for them as a domestic servant.
Court documents say the woman worked for and lived with Alfred Edwards, 74, and Gloria Edwards, 60 from 1999 to 2009.

In October 1998, they arranged for the woman to come to the U.S. under false pretenses, and took steps to fraudulently obtain permanent resident status and arrange a sham marriage, court documents say.
Sleeping driver gets 4 years
A Laurel man who was found with a handgun and drugs after he fell asleep at the wheel of a car on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway was sentenced to four years in prison.
According to law enforcement, a U.S. Park Police officer was on patrol in April 2011 when he came across a Toyota stopped in the right lane of traffic with 35-year-old Demetrius Alvin Boyd asleep in the driver’s seat.
After moving the car to the shoulder of the road, Boyd failed an alcohol breath test and was placed under arrest, authorities said. Police found two sandwich bags containing a total of 17 small ziplock bags of marijuana; $1,051 in cash and a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
Falls Church man accused of child porn
A Falls Church man is accused of producing child pornography by enticing a Pennsylvania youth to perform sexual acts on a webcam.
Christopher Julich, 31, was indicted on charges of producing and attempting to produce child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced Tuesday.
He persuaded a minor in Lackawanna County, Pa., to perform the sex acts on a webcam, which he viewed in Virginia, authorities said.
