Virginia communities on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., are moving to cancel or reevaluate their contracts with Flock Safety as backlash against the company’s automatic license plate readers has expanded.

The Arlington County Board voted on Tuesday to end its contract with Flock, while neighboring Fairfax County has said it will pause its Flock cameras to conduct a review. In Alexandria, the city council is still mulling over how to proceed with the technology.
