Man sentenced for faking

seizures at restaurants

A Baltimore man was sentenced to a year and a half in jail for faking seizures to avoid paying his dinner bills.

Andrew Palmer, 43, feigned the seizures after eating at several restaurants between April and July, each time requiring medical personnel to respond.

Palmer has more than 40 convictions for theft.



Alexandria man

charged with arson

A fire that gutted an Alexandria townhouse earlier this month was intentionally set, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said.

Authorities said Neil Benjamin Harrison, 28, of Alexandria, was charged with maliciously burning a house and setting fire to wood, fences and grass.

The Aug. 1 fire destroyed the townhouse on the 5200 block of Pleasure Cove Court. No one was injured.

Teen dies from accident

A 16-year-old Columbia Heights girl died after she was struck by car while crossing the street Tuesday night in District Heights, Prince George’s County Police said.

Police have identified the teenager as Tia Wright, of the 5500 block of Marlboro Pike. Police said Wright was wearing dark clothing and was not in the crosswalk when she was struck shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday. Rescue crews took Wright to the hospital where she died early Wednesday.
