3 shot, 2 fatally, in D.C. Three men were shot, two fatally, in apparently unrelated shootings in the District late Friday and early Saturday, according to D.C. police.
The bloody night began when an adult man was grazed in the head by a bullet during an attempted robbery shortly after 11:15 p.m. near K Street and First Street NW, said Officer Anthony Clay, a police spokesman.
Ervin Griffin, 32, was shot to death on the 1200 block of 18th Place NE at about 11:25 p.m., police said.
Junon Snead, 30, was killed at about 6 a.m. on the 3700 block of Jay Street NE. He was shot in the head, Clay said.
No motives or suspects have been identified in the slayings.
2 arrested in March slaying
Prince George’s County police said Saturday that two suspects are in custody in connection with a March homicide in Edmonston.
Police said 24-year-old Frederick Scott and 24-year-old Malik Huff, both of Hyattsville, are accused of fatally shooting a District man after a fight inside the Surf Club on March 4.
Phillip Watson, 30, of Northeast D.C., shot to death outside the club, located on the 4700 block of Kenilworth Avenue.
Scott was apprehended in Las Vegas and is awaiting extradition. Huff was arrested Friday in the county, police said.
Man killed in hit-and-run
A man was fatally struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Seat Pleasant early Saturday.
Prince George’s County police said a motorist alerted authorities to an unresponsive man in the roadway near Addison Road South and Central Avenue at about 4:40 a.m.
The 34-year-old man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police are still looking for the striking vehicle.
