A 21-year-old Waldorf woman has been indicted in a deadly pedestrian crash, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said.
Jacqline Vivian Kierra Mack was charged with vehicular manslaughter in the 2011 death of a 31-year-old Clinton man, Charles County officials announced Tuesday.

According to sheriff’s deputies, Mack was driving east on Holly Tree Lane in Waldorf on Nov. 11, 2011, when she lost control of her car. The vehicle jumped the curb and struck Andre Nelson Shorts who was walking in a grassy area about 10 feet off the road.
Mack stayed on the scene and Shorts was taken to a hospital where he later died. Investigators determined that Mack had been drinking and speeding before the crash.
