Body found in Md. state park
Montgomery County police are investigating the discovery of human remains at Patuxent River State Park.
The partially decomposed body was found Saturday in a shallow grave near the Brown Church Road outside Damascus. The body was identified as that of a woman, but her age and race remain unknown. Investigators believe the body may have been placed there in the fall of 2009.

catch fire in separate incidents
Prince George’s County police are investigating two separate blazes that caused millions of dollars in damage.
The first occurred around 4 a.m. Sunday at a construction site in Bowie near 12th Street and Chestnut Avenue. The fire destroyed a small office building and three cement mixers, said fire department spokesman Mark Brady.
The second happened Sunday around 5:30 a.m. at a BP gas station at Addison Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The fire did about $200,000 in damage. The store was open for business, but nobody was hurt. Investigators are probing the possibility of arson in the case, Brady said.
Police: Driver tries to hit cop twice
A woman was arrested after police said she twice tried to run over a D.C. police officer.
Around 3 a.m., Sunday, a woman in a Ford sport utility vehicle tried to strike an officer on the 6800 block of Georgia Avenue. When police stopped and approached the SUV, the driver tried to run over the officer again. She was arrested in Montgomery County on traffic and drug charges.
One dead, another critical
in early-morning accident
One Great Falls teenager is dead after an early-morning crash in the Reston area, Fairfax County police said.
Around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, a Toyota minivan drove off Walker Road and into a tree. The passenger, Shaun Farokhzad, 19, died at the scene. The 18-year-old driver was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
