A man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed Thursday afternoon in Arlington, officials said.
About 1:40 p.m. Thursday, an officer was flagged down by a bystander. The officer found the victim with numerous stab wounds to his upper body outside a restaurant in the 3300 block of Wilson Boulevard, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. The restaurant, reportedly Pio Pio, is in between the Clarendon and Virginia Square Metro stations.

The victim, a 31-year-old man from Montgomery Village, had been in his office when he saw the suspect trying to break into his vehicle in the 900 block of Kenmore Street. The suspect fled when the victim tried to confront him, and the victim gave chase, Sternbeck said. The two men got into a physical altercation, and the suspect stabbed the victim.
The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and immediately went into surgery, Sternbeck said. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, who was wearing a white T-shirt. Police believe he fled in a stolen white contractor’s van.
