District police search for two suspects

It was Nov. 14 and the PNC Bank on the 300 block of 12th Street in Southeast had been open for about 30 minutes when two men entered, one of whom pulled out a black revolver.

The armed robber’s face was covered by a black mask. As soon as he drew the weapon, he stuck it into the security guard’s side, and ordered him to turn and face the bank’s interior.

The second robber, whose face was hidden behind a black ski mask, approached the tellers and demanded cash. The tellers complied and the man returned to his partner at the door.

The two then backed out of the bank together with an undisclosed amount of cash. They both wore light gray hooded sweatshirts and bluejeans.

The armed man wore white tennis shoes. He was 5 foot 7, weighed about 200 pounds and was between 30 and 40 years old. The other robber, who was about 6 feet tall, weighed about 180 to 190 pounds and was between 30 and 40 years old. Both men are black.
