One man was killed and two others were wounded during a shooting in New York City’s Penn Station Monday morning, according to law enforcement authorities.
The shooting was the result of an argument inside a McDonald’s at 490 Eighth Avenue. The argument then flowed into the subway station near 35th Street and Eighth Ave. before shots were fired at 6:14 a.m., sources said.
Three suspects, none of whom have been identified or apprehended, then fled the scene, heading north on Eighth Ave., sources said.
The dead victim was identified as 43-year-old Angel Quinones. Two other men, William Lamboy, 45, and Eddie Torres, 48, were both critically wounded and taken to Bellevue Hospital Center, authorities said.
Law enforcement sources told the New York Post that at least two of the three victims were patients at a nearby methadone clinic.
Past shootings have led to calls from President Obama to impose new restrictions on guns, a move the Republican-led Congress seems unlikely to make.
