A Silver Spring man was sentenced to seven years in prison in the carjacking a Wilson High School teacher who immediately recognized that the man’s accomplice was one of her students. Jeremiah Juwley, 26, is already serving 10 years in prison for kidnapping and second-degree assault in Maryland for crimes arising from the incident on April 17, 2010. D.C. Superior Court Judge Ann O’Reagan Keary ordered that the seven-year term be served after the Maryland prison term.

After carjacking the woman’s sport utility vehicle, Juwley forced her to withdraw $200 from her bank. He then drove to a parking lot and tried to force her into performing a sex act on him. She refused and he stabbed her. She was able to escape and flagged down a passing motorist.
