Man gets 140 years for music producer’s slaying

ALandover man was sentenced to 140 years in prison for shooting a music producer to death more than four years ago. Jamaal Alexis, 24, was sentenced for the Oct. 13, 2006, slaying of Raymond “Scottie Beats” Brown. He was convicted of second-degree murder by a Prince George’s County Circuit Court jury this October. Prosecutors say Alexis also arranged for Bobby Ennels, a witness for the government in the case against Alexis, to be killed. Ennels was shot to death in October 2008.

Alexis was found not guilty of conspiring to kill Ennels, but was convicted of soliciting Rashadd Alexis, his brother, to retaliate against Ennels.
