Cyril Williams has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for fatally shooting a Maryland State Police trooper in June 2010.
Judge Sean Wallace sentenced him to life plus 25 years on Thursday in Prince George’s County Circuit Court.
Williams was convicted earlier this year of killing Trooper Wesley Brown outside a Forestville Applebee’s. Brown had kicked Williams out of the restaurant when he was being disorderly, and prosecutors say Williams returned with a gun to seek revenge and ambushed Brown outside the business.
