Woman found dead in fire

Fairfax County firefighters discovered the body of a woman after putting out a garage fire.

The garage was fully engulfed when a fire crew arrived at the home on the 6200 block of Villa Street on Saturday. After firefighters put out the flames, they found the body of the women.

Authorities announced the death Monday and said they were still investigating.



Man with knife robs gas station

Fairfax County police are investigating an armed robbery of a Shell gas station at 13704 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway.

A man approached the clerk, grabbed him, produced a knife and demanded money. The robber fled with money and cigarettes. There were no injuries.

The robber was described as being black, between 35 and 40 years old, around 6 feet 3 inches and 210 pounds. He wore a light green, waist-length raincoat with a hood, a long white T-shirt and bluejeans.

Father killed in neighborhood dispute

Prince George’s County police say a Brandywine man was killed and his teenage son was wounded in a neighborhood dispute.

Police said the man and his son were shot during an argument with a neighbor around 3 p.m. Sunday on the 8800 block of Charm Court.

The father died from his wounds, but police said his son’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police said the neighbor has been taken into custody for questioning.
