Funeral set for officer killed in crash
Funeral arrangements have been made for the Prince George’s County police officer who died in a car crash while pursuing a suspect. Adrian Morris, 23, was killed on Aug. 20 when his cruiser ran off Interstate 95 in Beltsville and crashed into a ditch. Another officer in the passenger seat sustained injuries.
A viewing will be held Monday at the Borgwardt Funeral Home in Beltsville from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Woodstream Church in Mitchellville, Md.
Police have apprehended both suspects in the car that they were chasing.
Morris was a native of Kingston, Jamaica, and had been on the force for 2 1/2 years.
D.C. police arrest two suspected serial burglars
D.C. police have arrested two suspects who may be involved in multiple burglaries in the city. The suspects were caught Saturday evening after police responded to a call for a burglary on 49th Street Southeast. Police also recovered their vehicle and in it found “appliances and other suspected stolen items,” according to a notice by Capt. Keith DeVille on the 6th District listserv. D.C. detectives are continuing to investigate the burglaries.
Man shot in Frederick apartment complex
Frederick police are asking for help with the investigation of a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in an apartment complex. The victim, a male whose name and age are not being released, was found after police responded to a call about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the Country Hill Apartment complex north of downtown Frederick. The person was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
