Thirteen people were hospitalized after three tour buses were involved in rear-end crashes on the Capital Beltway.
At about 10 a.m. Wednesday, a box truck rear-ended one bus on the Inner Loop near the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Around the same time, the two other buses were involved in a separate crash a bit farther back in traffic, near Kenilworth Avenue, according to Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Services.
The three tour buses were carrying Pennsylvania middle school students who were en route to the District. More than 80 students and parents were evaluated; 13 who complained of neck and back pain were taken to local hospitals. All of the injuries are considered minor, authorities said.
