Five members of a Bloods street gang have been arrested in connection with a Christmastime attack on a rival Hispanic gang at a Wheaton mall.

Arrested were three males and two female members of a Prince George’s County Bloods gang: Anthony D. Taylor, 19, of Washington, D.C., Andrew Davies, 19, Hyattsville, Antwaun T. Lee, 18, Greenbelt, Samantha “Cherry” L. Quick, 20, of Greenbelt, and Aliah Kinard, 14, of Alexandria. Kinard was charged as an adult.

On Dec. 22, the suspects drove into Montgomery County with the intention of shooting a random victim when they bumped into several members of MS-13 in the Westfield Wheaton Shopping Centre parking lot, police said.

“This was not a planned encounter, this was not based on any previous dispute,” said Montgomery County police spokeswoman Lucille Baur.

An off-duty gang officer at the mall saw the groups exchange words and two Bloods pull out handguns. Taylor allegedly gave the order and Davies and Lee squeezed off several rounds, striking one MS-13 member in the shoulder. Bullets shattered the glass of a nearby vehicle, injuring two female shoppers.

Police pursued the Bloods into the mall where the gang members ducked into a Macy’s dressing room until one of the guns accidentally discharged. The suspects escaped through an emergency exit, but left behind two guns and a yellow jacket with ammunition in its pockets, police said.

With video evidence, tips from the public and forensic evidence left in the stolen black Honda used by the Bloods, investigators said they were able to identify Lee as one of the suspects.

Police got a break over the weekend when Delaware state troopers arrested Lee, Kinard and Quick after a car chase through the Eastern Shore. Police believe the three were involved in a series of burglaries. The car crashed and police arrested the trio and recovered a handgun.

Taylor and Davies were arrested Tuesday and were being held in Montgomery County. The trio in Delaware are awaiting extradition.
