Prince George’s County police are looking for a man who tried to rob a bank but ran off after a alarm sounded and was picked up in a getaway vehicle. At 9:54 a.m. on Feb. 28, a black man around 20 years old entered the BB&T bank in the 11600 block of Beltsville Drive in Beltsville. When the robber passed a teller a note demanding money, the teller activated the alarm, and the suspect fled.
An accomplice in a silver four-door Honda Accord picked up the would-be robber after he fled the bank.
The suspect is 5-feet-6 and weighs between 145 and 150 pounds. He was last seen in video surveillance wearing a black hooded sweater with white horizontal stripes, dark jeans, black and silver shoes and a black mask.
Police said the suspect has not been linked to other robberies. That BB&T branch has not been robbed before, police said, and there have not been any notable robberies in the area recently.
