Labor union worker gets 2 years for $379k theft

A 61-year-old Bowie woman was sentenced to two years in prison for embezzling at least $379,000 from a labor union.

Ava L. Ramey stole the money from 2005 to 2009 while serving as an official for the United Government Security Officers of America Local 21 in Bowie, prosecutors said.
