A man who was found in a car with gunshot wounds in Fairfax County has died, police said.
About 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the intersection of San Leandro Place and Mendocina Place in the Mount Vernon area. Officers found a man in his 40s in a car with more than one gunshot wound to his upper body, police spokesman Officer Bud Walker said.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital, Walker said, and his name will be released pending family notification.
Police are investigating the incident as a homicide. No suspect information was available.
