Two women responding to apartment ad attacked in Alexandria

Two women were physically assaulted Tuesday evening in Alexandria after responding to an apartment advertisement, authorities said.

At about 5:30 p.m., the women were responding to the ad in the 2200 block of Mill Road when a man grabbed them and pulled them into a vacant building. The victims were hit  inside the building, although they fought back and escaped, according to Alexandria Police Department officials.

The women were treated for non-life threatening injuries at a hospital, authorities said.

The suspect is believed to have placed the apartment ad, authorities said. He is described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old, with a tall, thin build. His dark hair was in a ponytail and he was wearing a long black coat and black pants.
