Burglar waited until grocery store closed

Alexandria police are asking the public to help identify a suspect who stole from a grocery store after it closed.

Police said the suspect hid inside the Giant Food Store at 425 East Monroe Ave. and waited until all the employees left. He then crept around the store and packed his backpack with items. The suspect was a black man about 35 years old of medium height and build with short hair and a beard and mustache. He wore a green or gray hooded jacket and black shoes with white soles.
