A Haymarket man has pleaded guilty to a car chase and shootout with Prince William County police officers.
Jason Michael Paul, 39, pleaded guilty Monday in Prince William County Circuit Court to four counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm in felony and eluding police.

He faces up to 100 years in prison at his sentencing next year, said Paul Ebert, Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Paul is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 17.
According to police accounts at the time, shortly after midnight on Jan. 3, 2011, officers were called to Paul’s house on the 5600 block of Wheelwright Way by a woman who said her husband fired his gun during an argument.
As police arrived at the residence, Paul sped away in his wife’s Hyundai Sante Fe.
The wife told police that her husband had been drinking heavily over the New Year’s Day holiday. The couple began arguing, and Paul choked her and fired two shots inside the house.
Police pursued Paul, who ignored their lights and sirens. His vehicle struck a median at Route 15. Paul got out and began shooting at the officers.
Paul drove a short distance, got out of his car and shot at the officers again. One bullet went through the windshield of a police car, just above the steering wheel, where the officer would have been sitting had the officer not gotten out of the cruiser in time.
Police officers returned fire, and a bullet struck Paul in the right hand.
Paul dropped his weapon and was taken into custody. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
None of the officers were injured.
In October, Paul pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling for the incident at his house.
