The man and the woman had been drinking alcohol. At the time of the incident, they were playing a game of running across the tracks before a train passed, according to Montgomery County police. The woman had already crossed the tracks before the man was hit.

The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Teens accused of throwing “bottle bomb” at girl, 6

Two teenaged boys have been accused of throwing a homemade “bottle bomb” at a 6-year-old girl at a Maryland playground.

Anne Arundel County police said the boys, ages 13 and 15, threw the plastic device at the girl at the playground at Sunset Elementary School in Pasadena at about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The bottle bomb exploded but did not injure anyone, police said. Authorities said the teenagers had numerous household chemical products and plastic bottles with them when police arrived.
