An Anne Arundel man prevented three teenagers from stealing his stepdaughter’s car by blocking off the only exit from the neighborhood and forcing the thieves to turn around, Anne Arundel police said Wednesday.
The woman told police she saw three males steal her Mercury sedan Tuesday afternoon from in front of her house on Columbia Beach Road in Shadyside.
The woman said she called her stepfather who blocked the road, forcing the driver to make a U-turn and back the car into a ditch.
Police helicopters searched the woods where the suspects fled and directed officers to them, police said.
Jarrod Antonio Coleman, 19, of Upper Marlboro; Richard Delonta Holmes, 18, of Washington, and Vernon Edward Clemmons, 18, of Hyattsville, were arrested and charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
