Man charged with attempted murder in stabbing attack on wife

A Virginia man has been accused of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to stab his estranged wife to death.

 

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said 66-year-old Matthew B. Parker, of Unionville, stabbed the 61-year-old woman at her Aldie home Friday morning.

Police were called the home on the 39300 block of Route 50 at about 8:45 a.m. The woman, whose name was not released, is being treated for life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The motive for the attack remains under investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Parker was charged with attempted first-degree murder. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Detention Center.
