<br/><small><a href=”http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=embed&hl=en&geocode=&q=suitland+metro+station&aq=&sll=36.066862,-79.365234&sspn=10.543109,15.05127&vpsrc=6&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Suitland+Metro+Station&t=m&ll=38.844053,-76.931419&spn=0.01337,0.01708&z=14&iwloc=A” style=”color:#0000FF;text-align:left”>View Larger Map</a></small></div> <p>A 65-year-old Metro rider was punched and knocked to the ground at the Suitland Metro stop Thursday night, the latest attack on a rider at the station.</p> <p>The man from Lothian, Md., was walking to the first level of the parking garage around 6:10 p.m. when he was approached by another man and the two started arguing, Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said.</p> <p>The suspect hit the 65-year-old from behind, knocking him to the ground, then fled, Stessel said.</p> <p>The 65-year-old was bleeding from his right eye and nose as he struggled to stand up, according to a rider who passed through the area after it happened.</p> <p>The suspect is described as a black man between 25 to 30 years old, who is approximately 6-foot-1 and was wearing a black coat, gray T-shirt and dark pants. He was last seen headed toward Silver Hill Road, according to Metro. No arrests had been made as of mid-day Friday. Tipsters with information are asked to call Metro Transit Police at 202-962-2121.</p> <p>It was the latest crime at the station. Last month <a href=”http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/local/crime-punishment/2011/10/suspect-arrested-suitland-metro-robberies” target=”_blank”>police arrested a man in connection with a series of armed robberies in the station’s garage</a>. And in February, <a href=”http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/local/dc/2011/03/man-attacked-suitland-metro-station” target=”_blank”>a man was attacked by a group of teens when he tried to call 911</a> to help a teen being beaten in the station. </p>
