Husband, ex-boyfriend charged with woman’s murder

A woman’s husband and ex-boyfriend were charged Monday in her October slaying in Culpeper, officials said.

Culpeper police charged Roger Edward Davis, 44, and Gary Willie, 50, with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, burglary, shooting in an occupied building and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to a town news release. Willie was also charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

Davis was the husband of the murder victim, 31-year-old Patricia Ann Adams, and authorities said Adams had broken up with Willie the day before her death.

On Oct. 8, Willie and Davis allegedly forced themselves into Adams’ apartment and an altercation ensued. Authorities believe Willie fatally shot Adams, shot Davis and turned the gun on himself.

Both Willie and Davis were hospitalized for several months after the incident. Davis is partially paralyzed from the incident and is wheelchair bound, authorities said.

Willie was served arrest warrants at a jail where he is an inmate on an unrelated charge, officials said, and Davis was arrested at his home.
