A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting during a vigil in Prince George’s County, police said.
Antione Freeman, of Landover Hills, was arrested Saturday on an attempted first-degree murder charge, according to the Prince George’s Police Department.
At about 7:40 p.m. Friday, New Carrollton police officers were monitoring a vigil held in the 5200 block of 85th Avenue for the Feb. 6 murder of Chris Smith, police said.
A gunshot was heard and the crowd began to disperse. An man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
