Vandals close water park

The WaterWorks Waterpark in Prince William County was closed after vandals tossed hamburger patties, french fries and pretzels into the pool and smeared mozzarella cheese on the water slide.

Prince William officials said the mischief was done Friday night at WaterWorks. The facility was shut down over the weekend so workers could drain, sanitize and refill the pool.

Officials say in addition to the food, someone threw tables, chairs, lifeguard stands and cigarette butts into the water.
