D.C. police are investigating the shooting death of a teenager in Southeast Washington. At about 4 a.m. Friday, police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 18th and P streets SE, where they found 18-year-old Eddie Raphael Blocker suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died on the scene. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 202-727-9099 or 1-888-919-2746. D.C. police are offering a $25,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to a conviction.

Off-duty D.C. officer fires on carjackers

A off-duty D.C. police officer fired at people who tried to carjack his vehicle in Capitol Heights, Prince George’s County police said. Police say the shooting occurred at 6:20 a.m. Sunday on the 1900 block of Brooks Drive. The officer, who was not identified, told investigators he may have injured one of the carjackers.

Felon gets eight years for possessing a gun

A Landover man was sentenced to eight years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Bryan Stewart, 31, was arrested after Seat Pleasant police pulled his BMV over last year for weaving over the center line on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway. Under the driver’s seat, police found a .38 pistol with the serial number filed off. Stewart had previously been convicted in Prince George’s County Circuit Court of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and was prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Accused wife killer waited 1 hour before calling 911

A Frederick man accused of killing his wife waited an hour before dialing 911, according to court documents. The charging documents say 65-year-old Marshall Franklin Metz told officers he did not try to stop the bleeding or help his wife. Ann Sue Metz, 61, was shot twice Tuesday while inside their home. Ann Metz had a faint pulse when help arrived but died at the hospital. Marshall Metz has been charged with first-degree murder.
