Police searching for driver after Fairfax hit-and-run

Police in Fairfax say they are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a 33-year-old man critically injured.

Authorities say the victim was walking along a Fairfax Boulevard sidewalk late Friday when a light-colored SUV traveling east ran off the road and hit him. The impact threw the victim more than 50 feet before he hit a parked vehicle. The car that struck him fled the scene.

The vehicle involved, investigators said, should have damage to its front end, including the headlights.

Police asked anyone with information to contact Fairfax’s city police department at (703) 385-7924.
