Stupid crimes

Hamburglar strikes in Iowa When midnight hunger pangs strike, sometimes McDonald’s is the only solution.

But when Witley Teslow, 21, found his local McDonald’s closed, the Wartburg College student broke a window, climbed inside and helped himself, the Des Moines Register reports.

Surveillance cameras in the restaurant captured Teslow grilling hamburgers and using a deep fryer to make french fries, the paper reported.

Teslow turned himself into police after seeing media reports of the break in.

He’s charged with burglary, criminal mischief and theft.

Not quite an emergency

A Florida man was jailed after he made 67 calls to 911 in just two hours — for no apparent emergency.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says Clarence McDonald, 37, who was being driven in a car told the operator he was being chased and shot at, WTSP-TV reported.

Patrol cars responded, but McDonald refused to stop the car. Officers eventually pulled the car over and charged McDonald with misuse of 911.

Don’t feed the animals

An Ohio woman is facing criminal charges for what she says is excessive kindness: Feeding neighborhood squirrels.

Annick Richardson is charged with criminal trespassing for going on other people’s land to hand out peanuts.

“It’s very dishonest to make me the villain or make me look like a monster,” she told WDTN, a local television station.

Neighbors told the station that squirrels attracted by Richardson’s feedings are ruining their gardens and chewing through wiring.

‘Twilight’ drives teen to drink

An Illinois teenager arrested for drunken driving told police the incident happened because she was upset about missing the new “Twilight” movie.

Olivia Ornelas tried to drive a car with a missing front tire and ended up in a ditch, according to NBC Chicago.

The teen reported that she was angry with her boyfriend because they didn’t get to see the film together as planned.
