Gang member wanted for Metro armed robberies

U.S. marshals task force members are looking for an MS-13 gang member who authorities say is responsible for a rash of armed robberies around Metro stations.

Nineteen-year-old Aristides Zaldivar is wanted by the Metro Transit Police for multiple attacks around Hyattsville in January and February this year and by the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office for an assault in February.

Zaldivar can be readily identified by his tattoos, authorities said. He has Chinese characters on his neck, the words “Only God” and “Can Judge Me” on his forearms and a spider web tattoo on his elbow.

U.S. marshals deputies are asking the public to help them find Zaldivar before anyone else gets hurt.

“Zaldivar’s tattoos say that only God can judge him but the fugitive task force would like a local judge here to do that first,” said Supervisory Inspector Matthew J. Burke, of the Capital Area Region Fugitive Task Force. “We certainly would like people to call in if they see Zaldivar but we would also like anyone who knows Zaldivar and may have suggestions as to where to look or who to talk to, you can call in anonymously and help us close this case.”

Zaldivar is a member of MS-13 who was born in Honduras but moved to the United States as a child.

He is described as 5-foot-10, 140 pounds. Zaldivar is known to frequent the Prince George’s Plaza shopping center, Chillum, Adelphi and Langley Park. He has family and associates in Northwest Washington, Frederick, and Northern Virginia.
