Md. woman charged in Adams Morgan crash
A woman is facing charges after a vehicle she was driving struck two pedestrians and a restaurant in Adams Morgan Wednesday night.
Chamica Adams, 23, of Mitchellville, Md., was charged with aggravated assault and drunken driving.
Police say she hit two women while turning left onto Florida Avenue from 18th Street NW. Both women were taken to an area hospital and authorities said one was still in critical condition on Thursday. Adams then veered into Keren Restaurant, police said. No one in the restaurant was injured in the crash.
Restaurateur arrested for harboring illegals
Federal immigration officials say they have arrested a Virginia restaurant owner on charges he knowingly employed and harbored illegal immigrants.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials say they arrested Kiet Boc Bui, the owner of three Viet House restaurants, on Wednesday. He is accused of employing at least seven illegal immigrants, not keeping payroll records for the workers, paying them in cash and not reporting them to the Virginia Employment Commission.
15-year-old killed in P.G.
Prince George’s County police are investigating the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in Capitol Heights.
Justin Pannell, of Capitol Heights, was shot at about 9 p.m. Monday and died at a hospital on Tuesday, police said.
The shooting occurred on the 6800 block of Central Avenue. Police are still seeking a suspect and motive in the case. – Compiled by Emily Babay
