Bar patron gets 70 years for killing bystander

A Suitland man was sentenced to 70 years in prison for killing one bystander and wounding another outside a Prince George’s County bar.

According to prosecutors, Adrian F. Lewis, 21, got into a fistfight after grabbing a young woman at Andrew’s Bar & Grill in Suitland on April 10, 2010. Lewis went home, grabbed a 9 mm handgun and returned to the bar parking lot and yelled out, “I’m gonna kill all you all!”

He fired into a crowd, fatally shooting Cynthia Aaron, 32, in the back of the head and shooting Walter Britt, 34, five times in the back, prosecutors said.

A jury convicted Lewis in January of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and two counts of using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence.
