A man suspected in a 2009 Silver Spring homicide has been arrested in Pennsylvania.
Vincent Minto, 39, of Landover, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 63-year-old Clarence Rankine.
Minto was arrested Sunday in Reading, Pa., in an unrelated case, and officers there learned he was wanted in Montgomery County, police said. Minto was charged in Reading with violating a protection from abuse order, according to a Berks County Magisterial District Court clerk.
The Silver Spring slaying happened on Aug. 30, 2009. Police said Rankine was hosting a gathering at his home when he got into an argument with a group of men. Gunfire broke out and Rankine died after having been shot multiple times.
Two other men were arrested in the slaying, but charges against them have been dropped.
