Authorities believe that a 33-year-old Waldorf man shot his mother and stepfather before taking his own life, officials said.
Shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday, authorities received a call indicating that a woman and her husband had been shot at their home in the 3500 block of Seagrape Court in Waldorf. The 51-year-old woman and her 48-year-old husband were taken to a hospital in critical condition but are now stable, Charles County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Diane Richardson said Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities had information that the shooter was still inside the home. An emergency services team and hostage negotiator responded, and at about 9:15 a.m., the team went into the house and found a man dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Richardson said. They also recovered a revolver inside the home.
The man, a resident of the home, has been identified as Shea Camya Proctor. The female shooting victim was his mother and the male shooting victim was his stepfather, Richardson said.
It appears that there was an argument before the shooting, and authorities are trying to figure out what the argument was about.
