The director of the Maryland attorney general’s civil rights office was charged with drunken driving, the third time he’s been arrested on a DUI charge since 2002, police said.

Anne Arundel police arrested Carl Snowden early Tuesday in Crownsville after they said his car weaved across the center line on Route 97.

Police said Snowden’s breath test showed a blood-alcohol level of .09 percent. The limit in Maryland is .08.

He was charged with driving under the influence, driving while impaired by alcohol, negligent driving and other traffic offenses.
