Dominion Voting Systems calls Maricopa election audit an ‘irresponsible act’

Dominion Voting Systems released a statement Thursday calling the audit of the 2020 election in Arizona‘s Maricopa County an “irresponsible act” after Senate President Karen Fann questioned whether someone deleted a main database from the Election Management System last month.

“Dominion voluntarily provides access to voting machine equipment and information to auditors who have been accredited by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission. We happily did so with the independent EAC-accredited providers that Maricopa County hired for system auditing earlier this year,” the company wrote in a statement obtained by 12 News reporter Brahm Resnik, one day after Fann raised questions with the Maricopa County Elections Department.

Fann alleged the Senate-commissioned auditing firm Cyber Ninjas discovered an “entire ‘Database’ directory from the D drive of the machine ‘EMSPrimary’ has been deleted,” claiming the missing directory is covered by the Senate’s subpoena, which allows the group to seize elections materials for the audit.

The Senate president sent the letter to Jack Sellers, chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, requesting a meeting between Senate and county officials at the state Capitol on Tuesday.

ARIZONA SENATE QUESTIONS WHETHER MARICOPA COUNTY ERASED KEY ELECTION FILES

Dominion disputed the credibility of Cyber Ninjas, which has been leading the audit since election materials arrived on April 23 at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.

“Not only is Cyber Ninjas unaccredited, but they have also demonstrated bias and incompetence, including committing a serious breach of the secure chain of custody that protects voting equipment,” the company said.

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will hold an emergency meeting with legal advisers Thursday evening to discuss the letter sent by Fann, a spokesperson from the MCED told the Washington Examiner. The meeting will be closed to the public.

A copy of the meeting notice, obtained by Resnik, said: “The emergency is due to the need for legal advice regarding the Senate seeking a hearing and press event … to discuss unfounded allegations against the County.”

The MCED has already conducted two separate audits following the November 2020 election, which showed no irregularities in the voting system.

Former President Donald Trump, who boasted unsubstantiated claims about widespread fraud in the 2020 election and has lauded the efforts by the Republican Senate-led audit, which included a recount of 2.1 million ballots cast in the county’s election, released a statement on Thursday promoting Fann’s letter.

Dominion has vehemently denied the existence of widespread voter fraud due to machine irregularities. The company filed a $1.3 billion lawsuit against Trump’s former personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, a similar suit against lawyer Sidney Powell, and a $1 billion suit against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.
