Nick Fuentes said he expected Tucker Carlson to press him on antisemitism

White nationalist Nick Fuentes thought conservative commentator Tucker Carlson would press him more on antisemitism, he told British journalist Piers Morgan.

Fuentes appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Monday in a notable media appearance for the controversial right-wing podcaster.

“He was very nice to me and very cordial, and he didn’t call me an antisemite, and he didn’t even press me on it at all, and I thought he would, and I almost wanted him to,” Fuentes told Morgan, noting that he felt Carlson was “two-faced.” Fuentes said Carlson called him an antisemite in other interviews afterward.

Carlson controversially interviewed Fuentes in late October, drawing myriad responses across the Republican sphere. Some condemned Carlson for platforming the white nationalist. Others, such as President Donald Trump, felt that Carlson should be able to interview whoever he wanted. The video drew 6.7 million views on YouTube, one of his most popular videos.

It indirectly resulted in a reckoning at the Heritage Foundation when President Kevin Roberts defended Carlson. Sections of the organization rebelled, and one board member, along with a few employees, resigned or left.

Carlson’s detractors felt he went too soft on Fuentes in an interview that was much less contentious than the white nationalist’s back-and-forth with Morgan on Monday.

In Morgan’s interview with Fuentes, the 27-year-old agreed to being racist, said he did not want to live around black people, and maintained that Adolf Hitler was “cool.” Much of the interview was Morgan showing Fuentes his own podcast clips and asking him if he still felt that way or if he had anything to add to the comments.

“I intend it to be an examination of what you said on the record, an examination of what you believe or what you say you believe, and an examination of what your rising popularity says about the state of the conservative movement in America,” Morgan said about what he intended for the interview.

Fuentes alleged before the interview that he thought Morgan would “ambush” him, but the journalist refused that claim.

The pair touched on topics ranging from racism, antisemitism, women’s rights, and the Republican Party’s future. One of the more heated moments came after Morgan showed a man whose family had been affected by the Holocaust to Fuentes, who appeared indifferent.

“I don’t even know who this person is,” Fuentes said. “Why is this person talking to me? This old British guy is saying, ‘Me mum got killed by Hitler.'”

Morgan showed the man’s story after showing a clip of Fuentes saying Hitler “is very f***ing cool,” and offered a different spin, saying, “I think [Hitler] is very f***ing a monster.”

Fuentes, whose content is driven by his short, biting clips, recognized the moment. “Oh … and that’s a clip. Can you hear yourself? Can we all grow up?” Fuentes said. The white nationalist also said the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, should be abolished and that women should stay at home. Morgan said Fuentes’s thought process about women is the “purest definition” of misogyny he had ever seen.

Beyond Fuentes’s controversial rhetoric, he shed light on his feelings about the Republican Party. He expressed pessimism about the Trump administration and felt that Vice President JD Vance was being “groomed” to be Trump’s successor, allegedly having the backing of several billionaires.

He claimed that Vance’s supporters were racist and that it was “ironic” that Vance had disavowed racism as his supporters allegedly spouted it.

Fuentes, who has split the Republican Party with his rhetoric, showed little remorse for his past remarks. He embraced his alleged provocateur persona, saying, “I’m willing to be very provocative.”

The livestream peaked at 117,000 viewers.
