Hannity slams Biden’s cognitive state: ‘Hollow shell of his former self’

Fox News host Sean Hannity opened his show Thursday expressing concern for President Joe Biden’s cognitive state, calling him a “shell of his former self.”

“Was Joe Biden like this in 2016, 2012? Because Joe, let’s be honest, was never a particularly bright or smart guy, but what we’re now seeing sadly for him is a hollow shell of his former self,” Hannity said during the opening.

“A total, complete cognitive mess,” he continued. “What’s really sad is the reality is that if we can all see it, so can America’s enemies, and we have real enemies in Iran, in China, North Korea, Russia. Vladimir Putin doesn’t respect or fear Joe Biden. In fact, none of these people do — none of these countries do. He just steamrolled — Vladimir did — Biden, who rubber-stamped Russia’s new pipeline project into Western Europe, into Germany.”

Hannity went on to criticize Biden for not putting “America first” and instead prioritizing Russia’s agenda.

“This is what ‘America last’ looks like,” Hannity said. “This was putting Putin first and Russia first. Last week, Russians hacked America’s largest pipeline system, causing massive fuel shortages in 17 states, all along the East Coast, up and down the East Coast. And this week, they were rewarded with their very own pipeline into Germany.”

Hannity argued that Biden isn’t concerned about American jobs and is actively hindering the country’s energy independence.

“You know, well, screw American jobs, all those guys who had career jobs on the pipeline in the energy sector. Screw American energy independence. We are all going to pay higher prices,” Hannity said. “There’s wealth and prosperity and safety and security by not needing foreign sources of energy. Now we’re energy dependent again. Sure, go ahead, Vladimir. You do whatever you want.”

This week, the Biden administration announced it would waive sanctions meant to stop the construction of the Russian Nord Stream 2 pipeline into Germany.

The move was met with opposition from Republicans, some of whom proposed a bill to reimpose the sanctions.

“Days after Russian hackers successfully attacked an American pipeline, President Biden decided to give Vladimir Putin his own pipeline and hand him a major geopolitical win that cuts right through the NATO alliance,” Sen. Kevin Cramer, who proposed the legislation, told the Washington Examiner. “At the risk of weakening America’s global standing, the Biden administration is acquiescing to a misguided German strategy, which will give Putin a grip on our allies in Europe. The Putin pipeline must be stopped, and I urge my colleagues to join this effort before the administration makes the United States learn the hard way why energy security means national security.”
