The House Oversight Committee, led by Republicans, will question Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle about the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump at 10 a.m.
A chorus of Republicans and some Democrats have called for Secret Service accountability for security failures that occurred at Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania, rally when a gunman climbed onto the roof of a building and nearly killed the former president, grazing his ear with a bullet.

Several congressional Republicans have called for Cheatle to step down in the wake of the attempted assassination.
