Secretary of State Marco Rubio is heading back to Capitol Hill on Wednesday for his second day of back-to-back testimonies before House and Senate committees.
Rubio will testify before the House Foreign Affairs Committee at 10 a.m. about the State Department’s budget for fiscal 2027, which requested 30% less discretionary spending funds than last year.

The State Department head will then testify before the Senate Appropriations Committee State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Subcommittee at 3 p.m., following his questioning in the House.
He is likely to again field questions about the war in Iran, which rests on a fragile ceasefire that was seemingly interrupted Tuesday evening by U.S. and Iranian forces trading “self-defense” strikes.
